Establish a symbiotic relationship to cover the details and the vision. Brushing up business acumen, I'd set project okr, roadmap, build customer relationship. Care about team synergy and trust. Bond the team stronger.

Mentorship

Working with many smart people, shedding my “designer ego,” can be invaluable when I'm forging my own way.

I take different opinions from other teams; ingest; analyse pro and cons; then find a best solution. When people giving advices, it is a way to learn. 

Entrepreneur mindset

Knowing business goal and being product savvy can reap big benefits when pitching UX ideas. Pitch designs with coherent arguments that align with company objectives. Show the positive impact, with attainable measurements.

Mission, My responsibility

Senior manager, Regional Product designer at Lazada, Alibaba group

  • Lead localization of UX/UI for SEA 6 countries, IC for Finance Wallet; Order Management and Campaign Management.

  • Finance includes 2 features: account statement- for user to reconcile the money and understand the revenue, and withdrawal is a payment function for them to purchase in app services and withdraw from their earnings and check their balance. 

  • Order management is a one station platform for sellers to list, sell, manage orders and keep relationship with buyers. It is complex domain cuz it include different scenarios and usage across 6 different countries.

  • Campaign management is another vertical I own. Lead UX for mega campaigns “Double 11’” “D12”  -Campaign accounted for 20% of the traffic among all the domains. Brainstorm with business and product team to strategise seasonal campaign, to increase overall join rate and boost up sales and traffic and gmv.

  • Established C-level data analytic tools for strategic plans and priorities for C-levels.

Vision, big picture

  • Not only UXUI,  I am a product owner, take part of the product cycle end to end till the product launch: I involve in  business justification, planning, verification, forecasting, product launch, and marketing of a product

  • Competitor benchmarking

  • Study data, studied the key metrics and analyse what is not doing well. 

  • Know my target user. Defined different tiers of users and their usage behaviour. to get insights about user painpoints. Look into the response pattern for user behaviours.

  • Conducted workshops to generate more ideas.

  • Talk to stakeholders on technology and business feasibility and further design based on the prerequisites and existing infrastructures.

Look into the detail

  • Conducted user interviews to understand user experience deeply. 

  • Design interview questions, prototypes for AB testing

  • Field trip survey. Go to user's work place to understand their usage behaviour.

  • Consolidate the key results as the fundamental basis for design direction and principle.

  • QA. Check flows and debugs. Ensure correct interaction logic.

  • Initiate a cross-vertical initiative that can improve user experience, Bridging The Experience Gap, Designers focus on their own verticals and neglect the experience gap between related services. Silos, Missing the experience detail, Improve Cross-Team Collaboration
