Intro screens
Gratia app UI sketches shows how ordinary drawings on papers could turn into the final design so I picked some of them to share here.
This is a carpooling app with social networking functions. Target users are university students as it is beneficial to make more friends while going to school.
This is the color palette for our university carpool application. Vibrant colours are selected. As our target users are mainly students, red is associated with vigor, passion and courage. While pink represents warmth and friendship, which are related to the name of our app (Gratia - which is a latin word means kindness). Also, orange combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. It is associated with joy, sunshine, enthusiasm.

The evolution of the logo. From sketches to refinement. Warm colour is adopted.

Indications

A line of instruction tells you to choose a route from any other options. Dots at the bottom indicate to swipe to the left and the route will change accordingly with the driver reviews.
Security and safety

Student can sign up by email. Reviews are provided for student’s discretion. Report user who breach the law. For privacy wise, there’s a function to block any other users, and set who can see your moment. Users can use Gravatar profile picture if they don’t want to use their real photos. By default when you sign up you are given a gravatar. In the car, only driver and passengers can contact each other, if you think the carpool passengers are nice and want to keep the contact, you can add them as friend and continue chatting in the app, only after added as a friend then you are able to send them message.
To emphasis one point, usually the destinations are rather simple, either school or home. And students use during school hours. It’s not something for you to call a car when you stay up late outside. This app is much more safer than other carpool app
